Back

I can only go back inside if I promise to be good

Colourful Choir

Young people normally meet during the week to prepare songs for the Sunday service. We plan to introduce Bible study and topical discussions into their youth programmes

Berewere Elim Church

This is where the Elim work was first established in Mozambique. A new building has recently been constructed by the church members and will be dedicated later this year

Let's try it again. Macbeth enters stage left. Got that?   So my the sister of my aunt's cousin's brother is the niece of your grandfather's second wife's nephew?

Leaders' Seminar

We meet with the church leaders on a monthly basis to provide training on a variety of important issues. Increasingly, non-Elim churches are attending these meetings

Relationships Network

Sharon teaches the leaders about AIDS. Here she is showing how contact with even a small number of sexual partners can nevertheless lead to the transmission of HIV

Pssst... Pay attention! I said to turn to the next page

No MP3 player, no gameboy, no Pizza Hut, no hair gel. How's a young man meant to get by?

Teaching Children

We use our children's picture books to tell well known Bible stories. Sharon tells the story in Portuguese, Gregory turns the pages and Joćo translates into Nyungwe

Roughing it

Most twelve year-olds could think of something else they would rather be doing on a Sunday morning. Sitting on a straw mat isn't exactly cool or youth-friendly

Do you mind? This tree is already taken

Mom, can I tell him that Portuguese doesn't have a 'k', a 'w' or a 'y'?

Camouflage

We managed to snap this giraffe in a small animal reserve near Blantyre in Malawi

Samuel Turns Three

Samuel (on the right) shows off his new alphabet jigsaw - completed with a little help from his big brother
