Back

We did check that all of the snakes had slithered away, didn't we?

Dad, just think what a great tree house we could have if we dragged this home!

Baobab Tree - Dwarfed by Nature

The local council cut down this enormous tree to make way for a new dirt road. We were surprised (and our boys delighted) to discover that its trunk was hollow. On the right Nathanael sits astride one of the severed branches to show how large it is

So this is what the fairy tale means when it says that the first little piggie built his house with straw

If he tries to climb up here, everyone grab some termites and throw 'em at him!

Madamba

Gregory recently preached in this rural church. The congregation hopes to construct a brick building next year

Kings of the (termite) Hill

These delightful children command a towering position on their very own termite mound. Presumably the normally vicious little bugs didn't find them too tasty!

Techically it is a hand ball, but I'll let it pass if you promise not to dunk me in the river

I thought you said that piranha fish only lived in South America!

Church Social - Water Sports

To celebrate the arrival of Mel Price, our new co-worker, we held a church picnic beside the Rovubwe river. To whet our appetites for lunch, we played an energetic team game

Heading for the Goal

Here the women's side race to the men's undefended goal. Wading (let alone racing) through all that water made for an exhausting game - but for great fellowship

Always wash your hands after touching anything dirty, smelly or greasy ... yes, love, that does include men

I've told you a hundred times: always look down at the ground and he'll never ask you to read

Teaching on Health to Women

Sharon has been meeting weekly with a group of largely illiterate village women, talking through health issues and teaching them about the Christian faith

Teaching on Leadership to Men

Gregory has likewise been meeting with a group of rural church leaders, taking them through a course on principles of Christian leadership
